The Bendigo Bank Eastern Suns are proud to confirm that both Marcus Bardill and Aaron Trahair will return to lead the club’s NBL1 West Women’s and Men’s programs respectively for the 2026 season.
After a challenging 2025 campaign for the Women’s team, Bardill’s leadership proved vital in keeping the group connected and focused on long-term growth. His steady hand through adversity has laid the foundation for a more resilient and united squad as they look to bounce back in 2026.
“I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to coach at Bendigo Bank Eastern Suns for season 2026,” said Bardill. “We had a really tough season in 2025 which I think has galvanised the group and developed our resilience. I’m looking forward to the challenge of competing again in the super tough NBL1 West, and building on our consistency in season 2026.”
On the Men’s side, Aaron Trahair will once again steer the Suns after narrowly missing finals in 2025. With a strong core returning and a renewed sense of hunger, Trahair and his group are determined to take the next step and make 2026 a defining year for the program.
“I’m incredibly grateful and privileged to lead the Men’s program once again next season,” said Trahair. “I know myself, the rest of the coaching staff and players are very motivated for a big pre-season to improve on the disappointing end to last year. Go Suns!”
With both head coaches recommitted, the rebuild is well underway and the Suns are ready to rise — stronger, hungrier, and more determined than ever heading into the 2026 NBL1 West season.
