The Eastern Suns are excited to welcome Victor Fluri as our new Pathways Coordinator!
Victor joins us with an impressive background in basketball officiating and referee development, bringing a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to the role. Currently a Level 2 Referee Coach with Basketball WA, Victor has spent the past two decades deeply immersed in the sport — as a referee, mentor, and community contributor.
Victor began his officiating journey in the early 2000s and went on to referee at the national level, more recently, in his role as a Referee Coach with Basketball WA, Victor has taken on the responsibility of mentoring the next generation of officials — focusing on game management, play calling, positioning, and confidence. His work in developing young referees and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement aligns perfectly with the goals of the Eastern Suns and KDBA.
As Pathways Coordinator, Victor will oversee the delivery of grassroots programs like Aussie Hoops, Rising Suns, and school and holiday programs. He will also play a key role in supporting and advancing referee development across our competitions — building a strong foundation for the future of basketball in our community.
You’ll see Victor around the club regularly, especially on Domestic nights and WABL game days, where he’ll be actively overseeing referees, offering mentorship, and helping to maintain a high standard of officiating across our competitions.
