Heritage Round returns to The Furnace this weekend as the Eastern Suns host the Perry Lakes Hawks in an important bounce-back opportunity for both teams.

After a tough road trip to the Goldfields that resulted in two losses, the Suns return home eager to reset and respond in front of their supporters. With the season beginning to heat up and ladder positions tightening across the competition, every game becomes increasingly important.

This weekend also provides a chance to celebrate the history and legacy of the club during Heritage Round, proudly supported by Midland Mitsubishi, as past and present come together at The Furnace.

FORM GUIDE

The Suns Men enter Round 10 sitting sixth on the NBL1 West ladder with a 7–3 record after falling to the Giants last weekend. Despite the setback, the group remains firmly in the finals mix and will be looking to rediscover the form that saw them start the season strongly. The Suns Women also slipped to ninth following their loss in Kalgoorlie, with the ladder remaining incredibly tight across the middle of the competition.

Perry Lakes arrive after splitting their double-header weekend. The Hawks Men sit with five wins for the season after defeating East Perth before falling to Cockburn, while the Hawks Women are currently bottom of the ladder at 2–8 after tough losses against East Perth and Cockburn.

LAST TIME THEY MET

Women

The Suns Women secured an 82–71 victory over Perry Lakes in their last meeting, powered by a dominant all-round team performance and the return of Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant for her first game of the season.

Karly Murphy was outstanding, producing one of the performances of the year with 35 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Olivia Berry added 16 points and Tayjanna finished with a double-double in a strong return as the Suns claimed their first win of the 2025 season.

Men

The Suns Men were involved in a thrilling high-scoring contest against the Hawks but fell just short, 96–93. After exploding offensively in the first half and putting up 62 points, the Suns were unable to hold off Perry Lakes’ late comeback.

Terrico White led the scoring with 24 points, while Travis Fee and Marshall Nelson both made major contributions in a game that came down to the final moments.
