The Suns return home this weekend looking to respond.

After a tough outing against East Perth last round, the Eastern Suns will be eager to bounce back against Mandurah Magic and return to the winners list in front of the home crowd at The Furnace. With both teams still firmly in the mix across the NBL1 West season, expect plenty of intensity as the competition begins to heat up.

The Men will be determined to reignite their momentum , while the Women continue searching for consistency after showing encouraging signs throughout the season.

FORM GUIDE

The Suns Men enter the weekend sitting third on the NBL1 West ladder with a 6–2 record, looking to respond after last week’s loss to East Perth. Despite the setback, the team remains one of the competition’s strongest performers early in the season. The Women currently sit among a tightly packed group of teams between ninth and thirteenth on the ladder with two wins, remaining competitive despite their record. Mandurah’s Men have shown improvement after a slow start to the season, now sitting 2–7 following a split double-header weekend against Cockburn and the Slammers. The Magic Women hold a 4–3 record and also split their games last weekend, setting up an important matchup for both sides.

LAST TIME THEY MET

Women

The Suns Women fell 64–82 to Mandurah in their last meeting, with the Magic pulling away in the second half after a tightly contested opening. The Suns matched Mandurah early and remained within striking distance at halftime before the Magic created separation after the break.

Gabriela Bronson led the Suns with 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Yume Knoll produced an outstanding all-round performance with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Alyssa Bowen and Denae Civich also made important contributions as the Suns showed strong effort and balance throughout much of the contest.

Men

The Suns Men delivered one of their most complete performances of the season last time they faced Mandurah, recording a commanding 99–76 victory. After a competitive opening quarter, the Suns took control through the second period and extended their lead throughout the second half with consistent scoring and defensive pressure.

Jesse Pollock starred with a three-point shooting masterclass, scoring 29 points at 63.6% from beyond the arc. Terrandus Smith, Joe Cook-Green and Marley Sam all made major contributions in another strong team performance.

ONES TO WATCH

There was plenty of excitement surrounding the debut of Trista Hull and the return of Travis Fee last weekend, with both players making their first appearances for the Suns in 2026. All eyes will be on the impact they can bring moving forward and how they help shape the Suns through the remainder of the season.
