Suns Sweep Mandurah in Thrilling Saturday Night Clash

The Eastern Suns hosted the Mandurah Magic for the second meeting between the sides this season, producing two impressive performances to secure a clean sweep on Saturday night.

The women controlled a competitive contest before pulling away late, while the men produced a stunning final-quarter comeback to overturn a 13-point deficit and secure a dramatic three-point win.

WOMEN

The Suns women claimed an 80–71 victory in a hard-fought contest that remained close throughout the opening three quarters.

With both sides trading momentum for much of the night, the Suns found another level in the final term, outscoring the Magic 25–17 to pull away and seal an important home victory.

Trista Hull delivered a standout performance in just her second NBL1 appearance for the Suns, finishing with a dominant double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while also adding 2 assists.

Gabriela Bronson again led from the front with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in another composed all-around performance.

Alyssa Bowen also made a strong contribution with 13 points and 7 rebounds as the Suns continued to apply pressure on both ends of the floor.

The result showcased the group’s composure late in games, executing strongly down the stretch to secure the win.

MEN

The Suns men produced one of their most exciting wins of the season, storming home in the final quarter to defeat Mandurah 100–97.

After leading early, the Suns found themselves trailing by 13 points heading into the fourth quarter following a dominant third term from the Magic. However, the Suns responded in emphatic fashion, locking in defensively and finishing the game with a huge final-quarter turnaround to complete the comeback victory.

Marley Sam delivered a sensational performance, pouring in 37 points to go with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a game-changing display.

Terrandus Smith added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, while Travis Fee continued to build into his return with 13 points and 5 rebounds.

Lewis Thomas controlled the glass with 10 rebounds while also contributing defensively with 2 steals and a block.

The comeback victory highlighted the resilience and belief within the group, refusing to back down despite the fourth-quarter deficit.
