The Eastern Suns delivered a statement performance on Friday night, sweeping the South West Slammers in a pair of dominant displays at home.
The night was highlighted by a breakthrough performance from the Suns women, who secured their first win of the 2026 season in emphatic fashion, while the men continued their strong start to remain undefeated and sit atop the NBL1 West ladder heading into a big double-header weekend.
WOMEN
The Suns women produced their most complete performance of the season, defeating the Slammers 102–81 in an impressive offensive display.
A fast start set the tone, with the Suns piling on 34 points in the opening quarter to take control early. Despite a brief Slammers response in the second term, the Suns maintained composure and reasserted their dominance in the second half to close out a convincing win.
Gabriela Bronson led the charge with a standout double-double, finishing with 27 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in a commanding all-around performance.
Alyssa Bowen was again influential, contributing 21 points and 6 rebounds, while Ella Averill was a force inside with 18 points and 11 rebounds, controlling the paint and providing a strong interior presence.
