Are you passionate about player and coach development? Do you want to play a leading role in building the future of the Eastern Suns with a strong community base and elite-level ambition?

The Eastern Suns are seeking a driven Talent and Coach Development Officer. This is your chance to take lead player and coach development within an exciting basketball environment. You’ll lead the implementation of the Eastern Suns Player Development Pathway, roll out our new-look Summit Skills Development Program, and build a strong, supportive structure for coaches at all levels. From emerging juniors to high-performing seniors, you’ll help shape the Suns’ future through elite, consistent, and community-connected programming.


About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant basketball community and shape the way we develop talent – from grassroots juniors to elite senior athletes and coaches.

As the Talent and Coach Development Officer, you’ll lead the Eastern Suns Player Development Pathway, launch and manage a structured Summit Skills Development Program, and support our coaches through education and resources. You’ll work to ensure a high-performance culture and clear progression pathways.

You’ll also be instrumental in building and delivering holiday camps, Talent ID squads, and coach accreditation opportunities that feed into the Suns’ overall vision and playing style.


What We’re Looking For

We’re ideally seeking someone who:

  • Has experience playing or coaching at a high level
  • Understands athlete development
  • Is passionate about working with youth and building a strong club culture
  • Can support and lead coaches across different levels of experience
  • Brings energy, strategy, and initiative to everything they do

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the player development framework from WABL to NBL1
  • Delivering the Summit Skills Development Program
  • Coordinating/delivering school holiday programs and talent identification squads
  • Supporting coach education, workshops, and high-performance progression
  • Maintaining consistency through the Eastern Suns Style of Play document
