Kalamunda & Districts Basketball Association (KDBA) is inviting expressions of interest from passionate female members of our basketball community to join the Female Participation Advisory Group, focused on strengthening female participation, engagement, and leadership across all levels of our sport. We encourage parents, coaches, team managers, umpires and players over the age of 16 to apply.

This group will help guide KDBA’s ongoing efforts to make basketball more inclusive, supportive, and accessible for women and girls – both on and off the court.

The Female Participation Advisory Group will provide input and recommendations to support KDBA’s strategic goals relating to:
•  Increasing participation and retention of female players, coaches, referees, and volunteers
•  Promoting pathways for female leadership and development within basketball
•  Identifying and addressing barriers to inclusion and representation
•  Supporting community engagement, events, and initiatives celebrating women in basketball

We are seeking female participants who:
•  Demonstrate a genuine interest in advancing opportunities for women and girls in sport
•  Have experience or insight as a player, coach, official, parent, referee or community advocate
•  Can offer ideas, feedback, and leadership to help KDBA improve female experiences in basketball
•  Are willing to commit time to attend group meetings and contribute to projects or event

Diversity of experience is valued, and expressions of interest are welcomed from across the KDBA community – whether you’re new to the sport or have a long history with basketball.

Please submit a short statement (max 250 words) outlining:
•  Your background and connection to basketball
•  Why you’re interested in joining the Female Participation Advisory Group
•  Any relevant experience or perspective you would bring to the group
