The Eastern Suns are proud to announce that U16 WABL player Ciara has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious She Hoops Leadership & Confidence Scholarship — an exciting opportunity for young women looking to make an impact both on and off the court.
Designed for girls aged 15 to 18, this five-month program offers a unique blend of basketball, mentorship, and life skills development. The scholarship’s holistic approach not only fosters growth as a player, but also empowers participants to become confident leaders in their personal lives and within their communities.
The She Hoops Leadership & Confidence Scholarship also opens doors to a variety of pathways within the Australian basketball community. Participants gain valuable experience and qualifications, including accreditations in coaching and officiating, helping them explore opportunities in the sport beyond playing.
Ciara’s commitment to basketball extends beyond her role as a player — she is also a referee at KDBA and regularly lends a hand with Aussie Hoops on Mondays for the club. Her dedication to giving back to the game and supporting the next generation is a shining example of leadership in action.
