Full Eastern Suns Covid Update as of 5 Feb

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Suns Basketball Players, Coaches, Members and Supporters,

With the good news that WA has recorded its fifth zero case day, the State Government has confirmed that we will be eased out of lockdown from 6:00pm tonight with the following requirements to be met until at least 12:01 am on 14 February 2021.

  • Masks must be worn by everyone (except children under the age of 12) at all times, even when training.
  • A maximum of 150 people including players, officials and spectators are allowed at the stadium at any one time.

Furthermore, we are still required to keep a contact register of everyone who comes into the stadium. This means that anyone who is 16 years or older must check in using the SafeWA app or record their details on the contact register form found in the foyers.

SUNS NBL1 AND WABL TRAINING ALLOWED, DOMESTIC COMPETITIONS CANCELLED

Given the above requirements and after discussions with Basketball WA and the City of Kalamunda, we can confirm that training for Suns NBL1 and WABL teams will be allowed to commence again from this Sunday 7 February 2021.

To ensure we meet the requirements listed above, we ask that only players and a maximum of one parent per junior player attend the training sessions. Players who have a respiratory or medical condition that may be affected by wearing a face mask while doing physical activity are recommended not to participate in the training session.

Additionally, WABL training times may be altered to allow a break between sessions so that the stadium can be emptied fully prior to the next session’s players being allowed in. An email with more information on training times will be sent separately to all our WABL players soon. Please make sure you check your email (including your junk folder) for this information.

For all our domestic competition players, as per a decision by Basketball WA and all affiliated associations, all domestic competition games have been cancelled for next week. We hope that we will resume competitions from Monday 15 February 2021, but this will be dependent on confirmation by the State Government and any restrictions they may put in place.

We will continue to update you as we receive further information. Please make sure that you also keep up to date by following our website and social media accounts.

We thank you all for your understanding during these times and we hope that you all stay safe and well.
