Our KDBA Level 0 Referee Course run by Eastern Suns Pathway Coordinator, Victor Fluri (BWA Level 2 Referee Coach) is the perfect first step for anyone looking to join the referee community.
This beginner-friendly course combines classroom learning with on-court practical experience, covering:
- Basic basketball rules and how to apply them in a game
- Referee signals and how to communicate with the bench
- Court positioning for the best view to make accurate calls
You’ll complete a short online test after the course, then continue developing your skills through your club to gain more experience.

Cost: $60 – includes a training manual, whistle, and a certificate recognised across Australia once you’ve completed the course.
