Basketball WA are offering a Association Coach Course on 20/21 September at Curtin Stadium, Curtin University.
The Association Coach accreditation is designed for coaches working with higher-level representative teams, such as those in the BWA Performance Pathway (e.g. State Teams) or senior representative competitions such as NBL1. The Association Coach is the next step on from the Club Coach accreditation.

Who should attend:
This course is open to coaches who currently hold a Club Coach accreditation and who would like to continue progressing through the Basketball Australia coach accreditation framework. The Association Coach accreditation is a requirement for those seeking to head coach teams in the BWA Performance Pathway (such as Southern Cross teams and State Teams) and / or NBL1 programs.
Course Topics:
The Association Coach course includes both classroom and on-court presentations, covering:
- Developing offensive and defensive principles of play
- In-game adjustments and tactical decision making
- Contemporary skill acquisition theory
- Advanced video analysis and scout
- Athlete well-being
- Nutrition for high-performance athletes
Coaches who attend this course and successfully complete the post course assessment material will receive the Association Coach accreditation.
