It was a huge Grand Final weekend for our Eastern Suns WABL teams, with four sides taking the court across Saturday and Sunday. The Suns finished the weekend with two big wins and two narrow losses, but every team showed tremendous fight, spirit, and Suns pride.

U14 Boys Division 6 – Mandurah Magic 67 def. Eastern Suns 55
The U14 Boys battled hard in their Grand Final but couldn’t quite overcome a strong Mandurah Magic outfit. After falling behind early, the Suns fought back in the third quarter, closing the gap and putting real pressure on their opponents. Isaac Data led the scoring with 16 points, while Sven Neuhaus added 10. Despite the result, the boys can be proud of their efforts and the way they represented the club on the big stage.
U16 Girls Division 5 – Eastern Suns 80 def. Perry Lakes Hawks 61
The U16 Girls put on a commanding Grand Final performance, securing the first Suns victory of the weekend. After a tight first quarter, the girls broke the game open with a dominant stretch across the middle periods before sealing it with a huge 25-point final quarter. Amber Brickwood was outstanding with 16 points and earned Grand Final MVP honours, while Sonja Heyman chipped in 13 in a balanced team effort.

U12 Boys Division 3 – Lakeside Lightning 69 def. Eastern Suns 60
The U12 Boys showed plenty of heart in their Grand Final, pushing Lakeside Lightning all the way in a back-and-forth contest. Trailing by double figures at half time, the Suns stormed back in the third quarter to close the margin, but couldn’t quite complete the comeback. Harry Allan and Arona Gopolang each scored 12 points, leading the way in a gutsy team effort.
U14 Boys Division 4 – Eastern Suns 61 def. Willetton Tigers 51
The U14 Boys capped off the weekend with a thrilling 10-point Grand Final win over Willetton. In a hard-fought contest, the Suns stayed composed under pressure, outscoring their opponents in the final quarter to clinch the title. Brodie Sims top scored with 18 points, while both Kobe Gan (14 points, Grand Final MVP) and Austin Berkhout (14 points) were huge in the victory.
A Weekend of Suns Pride
The Suns closed out the 2025 WABL Grand Final weekend with a 2–2 record, highlighted by some brilliant performances, tight contests, and plenty of celebrations. Congratulations to all players, coaches, families, and supporters for making this such a memorable finals series.
