Double Header Showdown – First Nations Round & Road Revenge Weekend
We’re back under the bright lights at Ray Owen for a huge double header weekend, with the Eastern Suns hosting the Rockingham Flames on Friday night for First Nations Round before heading north to face the Joondalup Wolves on Saturday. It’s a big test for both squads as they hunt for crucial wins heading into the back half of the season.
FORM GUIDE
Women
The Eastern Suns Women’s team battled hard last week but fell short against a polished Perth Redbacks side. Expect the group to bounce back with energy in front of the home crowd, hungry to secure the W against Rockingham and to exact revenge on Joondalup after a heartbreaking overtime loss sealed by a half-court buzzer beater in Round 9.
Rockingham come in off a 1–1 double header, toppling the Wolves before falling heavily to the Senators. The Wolves, meanwhile, sit fa few spots above the Suns on the ladder and will test the Suns’ resolve in what’s shaping up to be a physical clash.
Men
The Bendigo Bank Suns Men snapped back to form last week with a statement 28-point win over Perth, showing their scoring power with another 100+ point performances in recent weeks. They’ll be eyeing a repeat of their thrilling 1-point win over the Flames last time they met, and will want redemption against the Wolves after letting a halftime lead slip in Round 9.
Rockingham’s Men went down to the Wolves on Friday but turned it around with a tight win over the Senators on Saturday. The Wolves come in 5th on the ladder with 11 wins and will be a big road test for the Suns on the Saturday.
